·                   Meet with senior management on a regular basis to discuss operational and software issues.

·                   Design, develop, and implement Business Continuity policies and procedures for the restoration of all ZOS and Z/VM production systems and MF applications at DDS. These procedures allowed DDS to conduct 17 successful BC tests over a 13 year period.

·                   Established Sox compliancy controls for Systems Software, Data Control, and Check Design Departments and the administration and monitoring of MF security access levels, using RACF, to insure that all departments conformed to required Sox compliancy controls

·                   Planned and coordinated the implementation of a Z/VM and Z/Linux environment on one IFL engine running on a 2094-704 processor. Websphere Message Broker was developed in this environment and was used to successfully replace a home grown legacy application.

·                   Responsible for ZOS, USS, and Z/VM performance monitoring and tuning. Re-architected the Workload Manager environments to more effectively and efficiently manage the workloads running on the production and development systems. Reviewed daily statistical reports to determine transactions rates, I/O rates, and CPU consumption of all online and batch systems. Used Mainview Z/OS and USS on a daily basis to monitor the health of the ZOS environments. Used Z/VM Performance Toolkit to monitor the health of the Z/VM environment.

·                   Planned and coordinated the implementation of many IBM processor migrations starting with two 3084’s up to a Z9-EC 2094-704 processor.

·                   Planned and coordinated the implementation of several Operating System upgrades starting with MVS/ESA V3.1 to ZOS 1.9 over an 18 year period.

·         Planned and coordinated the implementation of several DASD Storage Controller installations, including two EMC Symmetric’s, an IBM 2105-F20, and IBM ESS/800, and most recently an IBM DS8300. In most cases, planned the migration of data from one controller to another. Worked with IBM migration services to migrate data from the ESS/800 to the DS8300 using TDMF.

·         Planned and coordinated the installation of an IBM 3494 ATL and VTS and subsequent upgrades to a B20 VTS, the addition of 3592 Jaguar tape drives, and FICON connectivity.

·                   Planned and coordinated the implementation of Tivoli Storage Manager used to backup Open Systems Data. Data was backed up to 3592 tape in an IBM 3494 ATL. Established retention and archive policies and developed BC procedures for restoring the data at the BC site.

·         Planned and coordinated the implementation of a VTAM CMC LPAR that controls a 10,000 terminal network.

·                   Evaluated, planned and coordinated the implementation of Innovations Data Processing Upstream product to replace Tivoli Storage Manager. Also coordinated the migration of the data from TSM to Upstream.  Migration of 100TB‘s of data was 65% complete at the time of my separation.

·                   Coordinated capacity planning studies with IBM for all processor, storage controller, tape library, Escon channel upgrades.

·                   Co-managed a communications project that would migrate a 10,000 terminal network from a CISCO CIP running a TN3270 server to an MF TN3270 server connected to Open Systems Adapters.

·                   Planned and coordinated the implementation of PR/SM on a 3090/400E.

·                   Managed a “GO Green” project dealing with the migration ,and AFP like customization, of all client printed reports from the MF to a Monarch Archive server. This would save millions of lines of printed output on a daily basis. This project was 75% complete at the time of my separation.

·                   Managed a check design department which allowed clients to print application generated checks either locally through server based software called Paybase, or at their home site using a web base product called Webseries. Clients printed upwards of 6000 checks on a daily basis. Both Paybase and Webseries applications were maintained by my staff, as well as, the actual design of the checks printed by the client.  Coordinated client requests and changes through the Client Service and Product Development departments. Also planned and coordinated software and sever upgrades.
