Senior
Consultant (Business Analyst) on
project to convert shipping facilities to SAP (an ERP). The system operates on Wide Area Network. Defined the shipping facilities and maintained
master data in production planning (PP) component, from 2006 – 2008. The data resided in an Oracle database.

Activities
included gathering storage location, work center and route data requirements
from staff at each shipping facility.
Organized the data using Excel spreadsheets, for review. Defined the facility and calendar in the
system. Added the data to the system,
and passed it on other project groups, including trainers.

Successfully
converted 20 shipping facilities representing a division of Ryerson. Gathered data for 34 additional shipping
facilities prior to project postponement.
·
Coordinated
activities with other project groups supporting Financial and Cost Controlling
(FICO), and Material Management (MM) components, and group supporting variant
configuration.
Senior Consultant (Lead Analyst): Led staff
in support of the order fulfillment, invoicing, reporting, matching, test
reporting, physical inventory, adjustment and stock non-conformance, activity
based costing (ABC), and time and attendance computer systems (applications), operating
on mainframe and server. Application
support role was assigned from 1994 – 1998, and 2002 – 2006. The data resided in Adabas and Oracle
databases, and VSAM files. Supporting
programs were in Natural, C, and Cobol II languages, running in CICS
environment.

Activities
included gathering requirements from system users, creating business analysis
and design documents, creating prototypes and test plans, making changes to
existing Natural and Cobol programs, creating new Natural programs, executing
test scenarios, and implementing software changes.

Participated
in after business hour support activities, and Y2K testing.
·
Participated
on team preparing for Natural language version upgrade (from version 2, to 3).
·
Gathered
requirements, and determined tasks to discontinue all applications in 2006, due
to replacement by SAP.
·
Developed and
trained programmer analysts for software support roles and problem resolution
utilizing established change procedures.
Conducted performance and code reviews.
The number of programmer analysts ranged from 1 to 7 people at any one
time.

Solicited
feedback from internal customers, and adjusted the support area’s approach to
communication with them based on the feedback.
Senior Consultant (Business Analyst) on project resulting from Sarbanes-Oxley
legislation requiring compliance throughout computer system security and
establishment of standardized change control procedures for the entire IT
department. Project/Support duration
2003 – 2006.

1998, and 2002.

specified facility contract dates.

Consultant
(Project Manager): Managed document imaging project, for the
test report application, with $1.3 million budget, connecting mainframe and LAN
applications, allowing customer access via the internet, and resulting in a 75%
reduction in test report processing time.
Project duration: 1999 – 2001.
The system included the Traceability and internet image browser software
packages. The data resided in Oracle and Adabas databases. Supporting programs were in C, Natural and
Cobol II. WebSphere MQ was used to pass
data between the server farm, and mainframe.

vendor selection process that would result in a contract for supplying a
software tool. Reviewed the vendor’s activities based on the contract.

project, communication, and quality assurance plans, scope control and decision
making/escalation processes.

Assessed risk that schedule delay will have on scanning capacity. Created plan to mitigate loss of scanners at
service centers.
