Specifically, environment consistence of 3,500 MIPS - Mainframe, 420 UNIX – AIX servers, 1,450 Intel base servers, 7,000 internal desktops, 10,000+ agency platforms, 1.2 petabyte of multi-tiered storage. In addition, was responsible for the consistent delivery of global services and integration activities. 4,000 staff members and $1.0 billion in annual billing. P&L $20 million.
  • Consolidated the corporation’s infrastructure into one organization, positive financial result of $42mm.
  • Managed and supported technology disaster recovery activities during 9/11 crisis events.  Responsible for the technology support of the recovery of 13 major disabled JPMC office sites, 13,000+ users and 40+ branch locations as well as three data centers.

Fleet Financial Group – EVP and Chief Technology Officer                                                                   2/99 – 2/01

Managed the bank’s data centers; networks, ATM services, field services, help desk, and the PMO office. Responsible for bank wide strategic planning and policy-making. Expense budget $256 million with a staff of 1200. Responsibilities spanned the US and Latin America.

  • Successfully executed the integration of the organization and technology infrastructure of Bank Boston and Fleet Bank merger. This delivered required business integration and financial savings exceeding $32mm
  • Directed a program for technology refresh In particular, 40,000+ desktops and LAN infrastructure positioned to e-enable the internal Fleet Boston users and employees.    
  • Set strategy and establish Intranet and Internet portal technologies. Deployed web technologies including, LDAP, SSO, Site Minder and Web Logic domains. Deployed web applications such as Home-Link home banking, Arriba procurement and Service Center technologies.

 

Quest Diagnostics - Director of Data Centers and Infrastructure Services                           2/98 – 2/99

Responsible for the formulation and planning of the technology roadmap to integrate and upgrade the company’s infrastructure as a result of a spin off - start up from Corning Clinical Labs. Helped perform the due diligence for the acquisition of Smith Klein Laboratories. Staff of 900 FTE and Budget of $196 million.

Accountable for all data center services functions. Mainframe included 3 sites with approximately 5,000 MIPS, with large CICS and DBII configurations, VAX environment spanned 160 clustered systems in three sites and distributed processing consisted of 350 open system AIX, Sun and Intel environments in 8 key sites.

  • Successfully managed the consolidation of the Argentine, Columbia, Ecuador, Chile, Mexico and Brazilian processing centers into the centralized U.S. Command Center Operations.
  • Managed the conversion of over 4 tera-bytes of DASD to the state of the art EMC RIAD technology improving reliability and reducing expenses by $1.2mm
  • Supervised the contract with STK/Terris Corporation for the out-sourcing of tape operations. The capital investment under this agreement exceeded $4mm without increased running rate expense.

 

Distributed Processing Technology Manager                                                                                             1/95-1/97

Managed Citicorp’s Global Distributed Processing Organization , responsible for the strategy, standards, planning, implementation and service level delivery of UNIX and Intel globally.

  • Cultivated a successful partnership between Citibank and Cap Gemini for an out source agreement for the European Regional Data Center in the UK. This initiative saved approximately $45 million dollars.
  • Directed the consolidation the Germany Data Center into the European Regional Processing Center generating significant savings in excess of $8mm USD.
  • Evaluated & recommended the global integration plan for Japan and Asia-Pac data center infrastructures.

 

Consolidation and Command Center Manager                                                                               1/91-1/95

Managed U.S. and Latin America operations - mainframe environment of 4,000 MIPS in six locations, 100 +  VAX and Open Systems supporting local country processing and 120+ distributed systems.

·         Conducted the consolidation and migration of six mainframe data centers into a single hardware site and one command center. Achieved over $60 million in savings while standardizing operational processes.

·         Organized and built a culturally diverse multi-language staff for the service and support of Latin American business units. Achieved global objectives and cost savings in excess of $5mm USD.
