Senior Infrastructure Software Engineer Project Leader

Responsible for installing, upgrading, maintaining and troubleshooting operating system software, vendor software packages, and  programming Applications in COBOL/CICS/DB2 technologies.

    Technical Project Leader working with overseas contractors, Wipro Consulting from India, in-house and off-shore to gain knowledge transfer on SAP MDM application and associated components.

    Monitor SAP/MDM application using NetWeaver, Solution Manager and Wily Introscope.

    Responsible for installation and maintenance of Software AG (SAG) mainframe vendor products COMPLETE, NATURAL, and ADABAS. Eliminated SAG product EntireX Communicator by reengineering COBOL programs to use IBM EXCI technology to save the company $40,000 in annual support fees.

    Responsible for upgrade of all OS/390 2.10 applications to use IBM Language Environment run-time libraries.

  . Responsible for maintaining 3 versions of COBOL and supporting the mainframe applications programming staff 24x7.

    Coding of COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, ADABAS, NATURAL batch and online programs as required for architecture maintenance.

    Replaced Compuware Xpediter and Abend-AID tools with Computer Associates (CA) tools SymDump and InterTest Batch/CICS.

    Installed MacKinney Systems MAPR II CICS mapping tool.

    Responsible for APPC (LUTYPE 6.2) server programs (COBOL and NATURAL) and all APPC code, copybooks, and calls used by the applications area. 

    Tested all upgrades to CA Panvalet library facility.

    Implemented security to protect DB2 production data from corruption using DB2 plan names.

    Eliminated Fortran compiler and reengineered applications. This saved the company $4,000 annually.

    Project Leader for VSAM tuning project needed to improve mainframe performance working with Critical Path  Software Inc. vendor. Tracked files to be tuned and mainframe performance improvements.

    Responsible for the creation of JES3 JCL and COBOL/CICS/DB2 standards.

    Wrote numerous TSO/SPF dialog panels, clists, and procs using REXX language.

    Monitor performance of CICS applications.

    DBA for all HBDAM (in-house written hierarchical database) systems.

   Support Telco vendor system (telecommunications call record processing).

    Support DRS and COPS printing software.

    Support JOB/SCAN JCL standards enforcement vendor product.

    Creation and support of all mainframe compile/link procedures for COBOL/NATURAL/DB2/CICS.

    Develop and enforce SOX procedures within mainframe migration processes.

 

Senior Programmer/Analyst Project Leader

   Administrator for software package HourGlass 2000 used for year 2000 testing.

   Leader of all Application Architecture areas. This included teaching COBOL, setting programming  testing standards for COBOL and NATURAL, and securing Panvalet source.   

   Contracted COBOL off-shore programmers from Tata Consulting in India for application support.     

   Wrote the Log of Events ADABASE/NATURAL System used to schedule production installs. This    system eliminated the need of 3 analyst positions.   

   Wrote business critical applications in COBOL/CICS/DB2/VSAM/Batch.

   Used debugging/dump analyzing products regularly and SORT and IDCAMS utilities.          

   Responsible for code reviews of all critical application programs before installation.

   Responsible for the implementation of COBOL II R4 and COBOL OS/390 V2R2 compilers.

   Support DESIGN/1 and Micro Focus COBOL used to generate CICS maps.

   Conducted study to upgrade from OS/VS COBOL to COBOL II or COBOL/370
