Senior TSM Administrator / Unix System Administrator

On assignment to EDS to support the Medi-Cal account for the State of California.  Current projects include working on the TSM Server 5.5 upgrade, TSM environment hardware refresh, ACSLS install and configuration, assisting DBAs in implementation of TDP/SQL, evaluation and installation of Solaris security and OS patches, TSM related documentation, troubleshooting and other daily maintenance tasks.  Wrote several Unix/TSM Scripts to automate and simplify daily tasks.  Resolved TDP Configuration issues, saving the company $8,000+ in excess media costs.  Re-wrote flawed daily tasks and procedures to minimize the possibility of mission critical data loss and to eliminate human errors in volume management.  Discovered the root cause of flaws in OnDemand/TSM implementation that caused EDS to be out of compliance with SLA and implemented corrections.  Worked with DBA team to manage TSM resources to minimize failed database backups and improve performance.  Worked with application development teams to identify TSM related issues impacting application performance and implement monitoring and response procedures.  Coordinated move of Overland tape libraries in preparation for STK L1400 silo installation.  Performed hardware fault analysis and basic repair on Overland tape libraries.  Performed triage and interacted with vendor support as needed to maintain uptime per business needs.  Performed TSM Server database reorganization.  Performed basic SAN Administration.  Provided ongoing TSM Administration training and troubleshooting to other team members.  Shared responsibility for group On-Call rotation.
