Work Experience:

January 2005 – Present: Collabera / ITP Consulting, Inc., Winston-Salem, NC

Client: Wachovia Bank

·        Testing coordinator and technical lead for AG Edwards conversions for two distributed applications. I created test scripts, and analyzed and recommended application tuning, scalability testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.

·        Business analyst, technical lead, and testing coordinator for new application designed to recover archived mainframe reports, extracting and processing of data for known accounts and loading extracted data into a distributed MS-SQL database with a .Net screens for anti-money laundering group. Duties included identifying requirements; assist in coding, and testing of application.

·        Testing coordinator / sr. systems analyst for new application written to track exposure of security-backed loans. Responsibilities included writing test scripts, technical requirements, batch processing programs, and ensuring all testing of the application is successful.

·        Technical lead / programmer / testing coordinator for SouthTrust mainframe conversion project for tracking real estate secured loans/lines which are assets of the bank. Duties included writing technical requirements and test scripts, overseeing and assisting of coding changes, working with upstream teams to ensure data provided matched expectations, and validating application changes met requirements.

 

January 2004 – November 2004: Southern Solutions, Inc, Greensboro, NC      

Client: Wachovia Bank

·        Mainframe applications utilizing Computer Associates utilities, IBM programming applications, desktop project management, reporting tools, and SDLC methodology. MS Visio was used to define project tasks and timelines.

·        Duties focused on Business Analyst / Programmer Analyst responsibilities for enterprise VSAM tuning enhancements. Designed applications that performed tuning calculations based on the new Z/OS Operating System changes for VSAM files structures, created the VSAM definition statements to support these newly defined recommendations. During my assignment we saved the customer over $8 million dollars in operating efficiency and cost avoidance charges.

 

March 2003 – January 2004: T.M. Floyd & Company, Columbia, SC

            Client: Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina (BCBSSC)

·        Mainframe environment using IBM programming applications, desktop project management, reporting tools, and SDLC methodology.

·        Technical project manager and team lead charged with integration of a fortune 100 company’s healthcare system into BCBSSC’s managed care system. This involved tuning of applications before converting and importing of vendor’s data. During importing of data we carefully monitored database sizing and performance constraints.

·         Led another effort to modify existing system to conform to new HIPAA, Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accounting Act, and various other Government guidelines and requirements.


September 2002 – March 2003: Southern Solutions, Inc, Greensboro, NC       

Client: Wachovia Bank

·        Mainframe environment using IBM programming applications, desktop project management, reporting tools, and SDLC methodology.

  • Senior Technical Analyst responsible for providing file definitions to VSAM tuning specialist and then applying recommendations. We reported file specifications and recommendations on approximately 1.2 million VSAM files. Then I would report on new definition statistics for final review or further tuning efforts. Created and reported savings forecast analysis. Designed, wrote, and installed application to monitor VSAM files approaching 4 gigabyte limitations. Application would then notify appropriate team so these files could be redefined prior to their failing in production.

 

February 2001 – July 2002: DataMasters Incorporated, Winston-Salem, NC   

Client: Sara-Lee, Inc.

·        Mainframe environment using IBM programming applications, desktop project management, reporting tools, and SDLC methodology.

·         Senior Technical Analyst modifying existing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system to accept new Global Location Numbering (GLN) standards (GENTRAN).

 

May 1999 – February 2001: CIBER Information Services, Washington, DC

Client: United States Treasury, Customs Division; with U.S. Treasury Security Clearance.

·        Mainframe environment using IBM programming applications, desktop project management, reporting tools, and SDLC methodology.

·        Application Consultant responsible for mainframe enhancements to Property Management Systems.

 

July 1997- May 1999: CIBER Information Services, Charlotte, NC

Client: USAirways.

·        Mainframe environment using IBM programming applications, desktop project management, reporting tools, and SDLC methodology.

·        Manager of department supporting Frequent Traveler system. Managed 9 member team, maintained an overall project plan, organized team tasks, held bi-weekly client status meetings, and mentored team members in mainframe applications and software.

·        I taught junior level consultants mainframe programming. These consultants would then come off my team and accept hourly contracts within USAirways which tripled Ciber’s presence there.

·        Field Manager for all Ciber Winston-Salem consultants.

 

March 1993-July 1997: General Health System, Baton Rouge, LA,

·        Mainframe and Unix environments using IBM programming applications, network administration, Btrieve network database, desktop applications and project management tools, and SDLC methodology.

·        Senior Systems Analyst / Business Analyst for three Pharmacy departments, four inventory departments, and lead analyst for Interface team which developed and supported an ‘in-house’ enterprise data warehouse application residing on an RS/6000 Unix platform.
